Where is it that you allow your mind to wander? As a student who often finds himself slipping away into daydreams, the landscape of the imagination is something that has always fascinated me. What was once just a common habit of notebook doodling has become for me a more purposeful investigation of my own dreamscape.
Now I work primarily with ceramics and drawing to explore this world and how it may reflect social influences and my own character. Either by mapping routes I have traveled in my dreams, or by depicting the surreal characters I encountered along the way, my artwork attempts to form a better understanding of myself.
The most exciting thing for me is that my work essentially becomes an ever-changing self-portrait. My style and medium may change from piece to piece, but with an endless fountain of inspiration I plan on continuing this pursuit. My hope is that my artwork may encourage others to think more perceptively about their own dreamscapes.
